Got My Pink Pants On

A few weeks ago I bought an adorable pair of light pink jeans.
I've been trying to find some things to wear with it and transfer the outfit into the fall.
I am seriously lacking in the clothes department as far as my fall wardrobe goes.
So here's what I've come up with.
I can also pair it with a black cardigan I just purchase from Nordstrom or even with a frilly white blouse.
So many possibilities!

How would you pair this cute little ensemble?
Hope y'all are having a great week!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Haven't linked up in a while, so thought I'd participate!

1.  I am wife, aspiring chef, Army wife, doggy momma, and blogger.

2.   I have always loved a man in uniform. Hah!

3.  I hope to open my own catering business in the future.

4. I can  come up with a recipe for anything you want in minutes or taste something and tell you what was used to make it. It's a gift.

5. I dream of the day when I lay eyes on my husband again. This deployment has gone by so fast, but I am so ready to be with my husband again.

6. The way to my heart is  just to be real, passionate and caring. Or just to be my husband. He knows exactly what to do. :)

7.  I am passionate about family, cooking and being the best person I can be.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Christmas in July

I recently did a Christmas in July swap with Kristen at This Radiant Life.
I opened to find each individual present wrapped preciously.

I opened to find:
1. Sweet little coffee mug (the hubby is going to love this..)
2. An adorable waist apron
3. To do list (use it daily)
4. Handmade clips

Then came the sweet card!

And just because she's an amazing blog friend.
She sent me a little extra goody.
I use this product all the time.
Forreals, if you've never tried it.
It's Mary Kay Sunless Tanner.
Smells delicious. Sort of vanilla-ey.
Check it out.
It won't disappoint.
Promise you'll check it out?

So glad I participated and get to follow along with another wonderful blogger down their journey of life.
If a swap comes along, make sure you join in and participate!
You'll love it!
Merry Christmas in July!

Which makes me think, I need to get started on my Christmas list! Oh man.

Army Wife Weekend Recap

I need a weekend to re-cooperate for my weekend.

I got my Julep Maven package in.
Go sign up and get yours.
I got all this for just one red cent!

I wore this little outfit to our dinner with some Army Wives before our troop's FRG meeting.

Friday night, my good friend Lyndsay and I went to a Bunco Bash hosted by the Armed Services YMCA.
I got a prize for most wins.
And she got a prize for most loses. Hah!
We had such a good time.
Can't wait until they host it again next month.
I stayed the night with her.

The next morning, Saturday, we got up early and participated in a Ladies Spur Ride.
We rucked with 20 lbs. in our backpacks and carried a fake gun.
I think we walked/ran about 3 miles, but I'm not really sure.
It was up and down hill.
We did rolled big tractor tires.
Carried water jugs.
Carried fake wounded soldiers.
Completed field exercises and ate an MRE.

I appreciate what my hubby and all the other soldiers do so much more now.
They really work their butts off and truly are American heroes.

After all our hard work.
We finally got our own spurs!

I literally went to bed at about 7:30.
And Sunday I spent the entire day on the couch.

I can't wait to tell my sweet man how proud I am of him and how hard he works for us.
We are finally on the downhill slide of this deployment.
I'm so proud of us and how far we've come.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did!

Homecoming Outfit

Homecoming Outfit
Homecoming Outfit by morgan-neal

I have the shirt.
I have a cheaper version of the purse.
(I am far too harsh on purses to spend a lot of money on them.)
Now all I need to do is get the shoes and pants.

It's getting close to his homecoming, I am so excited.
I feel like I have so much to do!
Pray for me. ;)

Summer Vacap: Part Four

My last recap.
For my last week of break my dad came an stayed with me.
I showed him around Fort Bragg and where I live.
He's visited before but he only got to stay one night and had to leave early the next day.

For the Fourth:
I had some good friends over to meet my dad.
We had ribs and celebrated America's birthday.

My dad redid my upstairs guest bath.
That will be a post all on it's on later.

I was so happy he got to stay with me.
I was so upset when he left.
I told him I was going to kidnap him forever.
He laughed and said if I did that he couldn't buy me any more stuff.
So I let him leave. Hah!

The rest of my break was pretty low key.
Can't wait to update you on my life lately now that I'm done with all my vacation recaps.
Hope y'all have had a great weekend!

Summer Vacap- Part Three

Sunday, June 24:
I had a Ladies Luncheon which I talked about here
Victoria, Me, Cooney
And had a sleep over with my niece and nephew.
Complete with:
 a pizza party
root beer floats
putting on make-up
and a huge pallat in the living room floor.
Oh..
And staying up wayyyy past our bedtimes.
My nephew out did him self. 3 am. A 6 year old?
I was a nightmare the rest of the next day..
My little protege.

Monday, June 25:
Mine and Mr. Army Man's one year anniversary.
We, of course, were not together.
We didn't celebrate or buy gifts.
But I did get to talk on the phone for a while.
So my day was made!
We will have plenty to celebrate when he arrives home!

I also cooked dinner for my mom's boss & his wife.
(He's like my grandpa.)
We had such a great time.
Even though during dinner I cracked my mom's antique dining room table.

Tuesday, June 26:
My parent's 25th wedding anniversary!
My dad was out of town.
So.. Mom and I met up with Kelly and Sam
Read about our met up here

Speaking of my beautiful mom..
This is the convo we had in the car on the way to dinner after taking pictures:
Me: Mom, you are so pretty. You should embrace it more.
Mom: Love is blind.

She is a hoot! I tell ya.
Check my mom's blog out too!

Wednesday, June 27:
My Nana & Papa's 65th wedding anniversary!
I went shopping with my MIL.
And then spent the day with my Nana and my MIL eating cookies at the nursing home.
It's safe to say that when I got married I was truly blessed.
My family was already super close with Mr. Army Man's but we joined even closer.
When we have family get together's like I talked about in my last recap,
everyone on both sides comes together.
It really is a blessing and extremely special.

Thursday, June 28:
I stayed in my pj's all day!

Friday, June 29:
I went swimming with Miller & Victoria.

Saturday, June 30:
Went to a BBQ at Victoria's bf's house.
It was a great to catch up with friends and eat good food!

Sunday, July 1:
Said good-byes to all the family.
How cute is this? Dad and Stinky!
This picture is going to need some explaining:
Meghan, my niece, was sitting in my lap and she pulled at my tank top.
She asked me, "what's this?"
I said, "it's my tank top."
She then points at my boobs and says, "No! What's this?"
I said, "they are my boobs."
She said, "booby ta-tas?"
And I said, "yea."
She said, "I'm going to get some of those. Like you and my momma."
I said, "oh, okay!"
End of conversation.
Mind you she's three.

Then we went to see my grandma at the nursing home.
And Meghan sneezed.
My Nana, like any little old lady, filled her pockets with Kleenex.
Meghan clearly forgot about them immediately.
And I pulled them out later once we got back to my parent's house.
So when my SIL washed her clothes..
Anyway.
I stuffed her shirt.
She put her hand on her hip.
And goes, "I have booby ta-tas now just like you!"
She was so excited!

It's she a mess?

Monday, June 2:
I headed back home to the beautiful, North Carolina.

More adventures of my break are coming up.. Only one more post!

Summer Vacap- Part Two

I am sorry for such a long post.
I'm trying to document my great summer vacation the best way I can.
Hope you enjoy, but for those who don't I will be back to regular posts here shortly.

Saturday, June 16:
We got up early and did some shopping around Sanford, NC.
Ate at Ms. Lacy's Magnolia House.
Ran by Lowe's to start on the renovations of our upstairs guest bath.
And I took about a 3 hour nap.

After getting up we ate a quick bite and decided we were going to drive through the night to get home to surprise my dad for Father's Day.

We made it home on Sunday morning about 8 am.
I greeted everyone and then took a nap.
I ate dinner with my family and headed back to bed.

Monday, June 18:
I went shopping with my SIL.
And did a lot of this with two good friends.

Tuesday, June 19:
I laid out at with some family and close friends.
Nothing too exciting.

Wednesday, June 20:
I went to Jonesboro, AR.
I visited my brother and my niece.

Thursday, June 21:
I had lunch and spent some time with Mr. Army Man's side of the family at Amerigo.
Then went to dinner at The Majestic Grille with a good friend from high school, Danner.

Friday,  June 22:
I ran to Memphis with Victoria.
Ate at Veanos in Marion, AR.
Then went to her boyfriends house for some pool time.
It was much needed on a day that got up to 106!

Saturday, June 23:
I did some shopping around town with my mom.
And then visited my great-grandmother in the nursing home.
She was so cute showing me how she could walk (somewhat) by herself.
She hasn't walked this good since she broke her hip around this time last year.

It was a day full of family.
After that we had my in-laws, my brothers and grandparents come to my parents for dinner.
It was so nice having everyone in one place for dinner and celebrating.
My middle bother, me, his gf, and my older brothers gf.
The grandparents.
Nieces & nephew.

I still have some more to go.. Bare with me!
Hope y'all are having a great week!
I just started back to school yesterday,
so I should have some good recipes & such coming soon!

Summer Vacap- Part One

So, I know it's been a while since I blogged.
I am not normally such a slacker.
But I am back for good.
Or at least until Mr. Army Man comes home then I may be MIA for a while.
I'm sure you understand.

But a nice THREE week vacation called...
And boy did I come running.

To start my vacation my mom flew into Raleigh.
I picked her up and we headed to Southport, NC.
It's a cute small cozy beach town about 30 miles south of Wilmington.

Mom had never been to the beach before.
So first off I had to take her there.
It was such a privilege to take my mom somewhere she's never been.
Since normally it's the other way around.
It was gorgeous breath taking.

We checked into our hotel.
And dined at the Fishy Fishy Cafe.
It is literally right on the water.
This is a view from our table on the dock.

I did some heavy research on Yelp and this place didn't exactly get rave reviews.
But who can beat dinner on the water.
For a starter we had the Crab Dip.
Huge portions. And it was amazing. Extremely cheesy. Delicious.

I had the Fishy Fishy Taco. (Pictured above.)
And my mom had the Salmon BLT.

I tried everything, it was all amazing.

The next day, Friday June 15:
We ate a quick breakfast at the hotel, packed up and did some downtown shopping.
This is a great area for antiques and some really nice boutiques.
The boutiques featured Lilly Pulitzer, Hobo, and the works.
Completely great for such a small town.

After hitting up pretty much every shop downtown.
We dined at the Yacht Basin Eatery.
(Located right beside Fishy Fishy.)
Not impressed.
I ordered the Lobster Bisque.
While there were huge chucks of lobster, it was served luke warm.

After lunch, we went right across the road to Flava's.
(It is in a little shack in a gravel parking lot.)
Best ice cream. EVER.
I tried about 6 flavors.
And settled on three:
Banana pudding, black cherry, & nutty coconut
All piled into a cone. Yum.

We also hit up the famous Christmas Tree House in downtown.
It is spectacular. Christmas 365 days a year. AMEN.

I wish I would have taken pictures.
The entire town was dominated with red, white and blue for the National Fourth of July Parade and Festival.
Nichols Sparks was said to have started filming Safe Haven there the week after we left.
(As it's the setting for the actual novel.)

If you can possibly pack more into the day, we finally hit up the beach.

We left early and stopped by an amazing bakery on the way home, The Confectionary
We left around 3 so we could make it home by dark.
On the way home we passed through Fayetteville & mom wanted to stop at the
Airborne and Special Operations Museum.
So, we did. It was about to close and we made a quick run through.
Everything is so life like.
If you live in the area and haven't been or if you are just visiting,
it is a good touristy attraction that is free.

I've been about 10 times.
Not on my top list of things to do but they had a flag memorial MIA/POW victims.
It was beautiful.

Finally, we made it back to my house.
But just for the night and next day.
Then we were off on our next adventure...
