My Beauty Wish List

My Beauty Wish List

Hey ladies!

I have a confession to make its been about a year since I really have stocked up on beauty products.

I used to be an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay but after I broke away last December, the only beauty products I have bought is the occasional mascara and a few MAC lipsticks.

Needless to say, I need help!
I have been lusting after these products but what to know if y'all have used any of these before taking the plunge.
I have a couple of gift cards to Sephora and a some coupons/rewards points to use at ULTA.

So be honest with me ladies, are any of these products worth buying? Give me the all the dirty details!
Thanks in advance & hope you have a great week!

Obsessions...

Obsessions...

So the story behind my obsessions equates to this:
I eat TOO MANY Life Savers Gummies
that I have to go to yoga..
Where I drink lots of sparkling Voss water &
perspire so much that
I have to use The Healthy Deodorant..
After I get out of yoga..
I have to look good so I throw on my Pave Link Bracelet,
a smidge of Mac's Candy Yum Yum,
& my favorite J. Crew neon shorts..
Then relax while reading my Kindle.
A pretty chalk full day.. I tell ya..
YHEW!

Pharmacy Favorites

Pharmacy Favorites

Recently, I have made quite a few stops in CVS, Walgreens, etc.
I have come across some of the best products that I highly recommend
& a few that I won't go without again!

1. Neutrogena Grapefruit Scented Oil Free Acne Wash-
If you have been following for a while you know of my slight obsession with grapefruit.
I eat at least one a day, if not two. If it is grapefruit. I want it!

2. Vaseline Spray & Go Lotion-
I hate lotion. Applying a sticky goo to my skin is just not something I enjoy doing.
I hate having it on my hands and immediately wash after applying.
I hate it even more if it is heavy or greasy.
This is the perfect product. Light, spray that indefinably hydrates.

3. Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia-
Love. Love. Love.
So delicious and ultra moisturizing.
Run, don't walk, to get it right now!!

4. Rimmel London Extra Super Lash Mascara-
I go through mascara about like I go through grapefruits. Quick.
When I find one I love I keep going back for more.
This is one that gives long lashes, with no clumps.
And the best part they look au nautrale.

5. Essie Nail Lacquer-
I love having my nails painted. It makes me feel so girly.
And what's even better you can pick to match your outfit.
This one is long lasting and has the most beautiful colors.
And you can't beat the price! Much cheaper than my other fave Butter London.

Hope you enjoy my current pharmacy favorites!
If you like this little segment, I may try to do it once a month or even host a link up.
Let me know!

Cut It Out

I've been contemplating changing my hair for quite sometime.
I finally bit the bullet on Thursday.
I was going to get just a trim and go blonder.
But I was being cheap and didn't want to spend the money maintaining my hair.
So here's what I did..

Before:

After:

While I love it being long, summer is coming up and I just want to be cool.
My hair is so thick and heavy. I am loving my hair short.
Now I just need to find some different ways to style it.

What do y'all think?

Let's Talk Lips

Spring is in the air..
{Well not really, I think it's just a little confused.}
But that doesn't mean we can't accentuate our
clothes, make up and accessories around it.

Most of you know I am a Mary Kay consultant
so the first thing I think of when changing my look
for the season is make-up!

Especially L.I.P.S!
While being a Mary Kay consultant
a lot of the products I use are from the Mary Kay line,
but I don't discriminate when it comes to my lips.
Normally I start out with a cheap $3 product from ELF cosmetics.

This is a must have ladies. I don't apply my lippy without it.
I apply the plumper first.
It's like popping some Big Red in your mouth.
Cinnamon deliciousness.
Then for the primer.
Which in essence is like concealer for your lips.

Next my favorite Spring shade.
Here are a few of my must have colors.

1. Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter- Cotton Candy
It is the perfect light shade of pink.
Perfect with almost any outfit.

2. Mary Kay Creme Lipstick- Whisper
It is a great nude. Any array of skin tones can wear it.
Definitely a favorite.

3. MAC Cosmetics Lipstick- Candy Yum Yum
I recently picked this color up and I absolutely love it!
And who doesn't like candy?

4. Mary Kay Creme Lipstick- Sunny Citrus
This has been a favorite of mine for years.
Works well for both pale skin or a nice tan.

5. Ulta Lipstick- No. 207 Just Peachy
I bought this color on a whim and
because I'm obsessed with the color peach right now.

***
Rules to remember:
When apply lipstick especially bright and bold colors precise lines are key.
Always check your teeth to make sure you don't have excess lipstick hiding there.
Get funky and live a little.

Hope you enjoy and color your lips happy!

*If you have any additional questions or wish to purchase from Mary Kay just let me know.

Birthday Wish List

It is my birthday month!
Ladies, get ready to celebrate.
It is on.
One full month of birthday celebrations.
Seeing as my birthday is the last day of the month.

My birthday is the one day of the year that is designed to celebrate only ME.
My husband probably thinks this day is everyday.
He might be right.

I wish for:
My husband to be home to celebrate.
This will be my third birthday with him and we have never spent one together.
Fingers crossed it happens this year.
The day we said our "goodbyes."

Nicholl Vincent

Hi ya'll! I am Nicholl over at nichollvincent, and I am so excited to be a guest here at Stars Stripes and a Military Life. Morgan is so sweet and fun, it is such a fortune to find blogging besties like her. I know you guys agree!

Today I am sharing some of my personal beauty tips and things I swear by, and that I hope will spruce up your vanity this summer.

Make-up:
Mascara:

Rimmel Max Curves. I love this bold, but not clumpy mascara. I put a couple drops of saline solution in my mascara to make it last longer. In the summer, I tend to go lighter on make-up, especially for beach/pool days, but a little mascara does wonders!

Lips:
Mac Morange Lipstick is the perfect, bold and wild summer color.
Face:

Can't stress this enough: Sunscreen!!!! I wear it year round, every morning. It serves as a great morning moisturizer and aging cream. But especially in the summer, it is so so important to wear it daily, mainly on your face. It prevents those permanent sunspots and keeps ugly wrinkles away.

Accessories:

I love this statement necklace. It can make any and every outfit!

This bag screams summer to me. It is a perfect size, to hold the water bottles, flip flops, etc. And I am just smitten over elephants right now, so the print is fabulous!!

Poolside Style:

Colors! And an arm full of bracelets. A must.

Hair:

I don't know if I'm bold enough to try this, but color dipped hair looks amazing! With my black hair, I'd maybe try a hot pink and only at the very ends.

Health & Vitamins:

I swear by these things for hair growth, healthy skin and overall good health.
You can take up to five biotin pills a day!

What are some of the things you swear by for the summer?

Over at my blog, I share our newlywed adventures in a new city, our home DIY's, a healthy dose of style, and everything in between. Come visit me here!!

Back At It

Today was my first official day back to school. Class started Monday, but I'm off Monday and Tuesday of each week. (Thank God!) I'm in my third quarter of school at the Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham for those of you just now tuning in..

I'm taking Introduction to Plated Desserts aka baking & pastry, Quantitative Literacy (math), & Food and Beverage. A full load. Baking and pastry today was a nightmare from hello.. Anyway I made homemade biscuits and accidentally mixed up baking powder and baking soda. Needless to say it didn't turn out right and I got talked to like a dog. Great. First day in.. I messed up and my chef doesn't like me...

So I treated myself with some presents at Ulta.. Most of which were on sale.. So I also got Chinese take-out. Haha! Look at what I scored today!

In the bag: Jaico K-Pac shampoo, conditioner, hydrator and reconstructoner. Coach Poppy roller-ball. Two black flower hair clips. Elastic headbands. OPI nail lacquer called..steady as she rose.
Steady as she rose

Pretty clips. I cannot wait to wear.
The K-Pak for $9.99 and the OPI was $3.99 so excited. I really needed a pick me up today and this sure did it! Hope y'all had a wonderful Wednesday! Luh y'all!

Birchbox

Mr. Army Man ordered me a Birchbox when he got home. We were watching "Julie and Julia" and he said if me ordering this for you will get you to shut up for the rest of the movie you can get it. Needless to say I did as I was told. LOL! And boy I am excited. Then he got frustrated with me because everything I said when he started talking to me I mouthed. :)  That's called love.

I am so excited to get my first package! Now it's all about relaxing and enjoying our time together on the couch with Scrabble and the dog! Happy Weekend y'all! And don't forget to sign up for my give away! It ends Monday..
