A Sweet Weekend

Friday Night:

We had some of our good friends, Jack & Dani over for a celebratory dinner.
They just found out they are pregnant.
We are so excited for them!

I served Wild Mushroom Risotto, Braised Spinach & Seared Scallops.
For dessert we had a traditional Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream.

We all had such a wonderful night & were completely stuffed!

Saturday:
We had an incredible date night.
We dined out at

via

For an app we had..
Buttermilk Biscuits, Local Honey, Sweet Potato Butter & Sweet Cream Butter.
My main course..
Smoked Pork Chop, Garlic & Scallion Garlic Fries, & Pickled Okra
For dessert..
Pumpkin Pie Bunt Cake with Chocolate Bourbon Glace
This was our first time at The Steel Pig and it did not disappoint.
We will definitely be frequent customers.
I cannot believe it took us this long to try it out!

After the most delicious dinner, we walked around downtown looking at gorgeous Christmas store fronts. & then saw a local production of "A Christmas Carol" at The Temple Theater

It was such a fabulous performance, we cannot wait to go see "The Swinging Cowboys" in January.

It was such a blissful date with the Love of my Life.

Sunday:
We finished up our Christmas shopping in Raleigh.
We are officially done, all the gift are wrapped & tied up with string.
We finished off the weekend with snuggles & Christmas movies.
A PERFECT weekend, I tell ya.

Later this week, look for a post on our Christmas decor & an amazing holiday give away!

Have a great week!

  4. All of that food is making me hungry, and I just ate dinner an hour ago! Risotto is my favorite "fancy" food to make. So much effort, but totally worth it!
