The Messy Project

I've had quite a love affair with Kelly's The Messy Project & knew I had to participate.
I signed up so long ago & so glad I finally have the chance to join all the fun.
If your not familiar with the rules here's the deal:

1 item
5 girls
5 different looks
1 major blog post day

Pretty simple right?
Well when Kelly contacted me about the sizing for our "item," you see it's all a surprise.
I gave her my usual medium, etc, etc.

What I didn't know was that I was pregnant...
I haven't gained any weight, yet..
But the way my clothing fits has changed drastically.

When I first tried on my dress, I flipped out saying, "Oh hell no!"
This mama-to-be was not having her girls all hanging out.

So I did what any wannabe fashionista would do...
I made it work for slightly hormonal big breasted mama.

From doing this project I learned that you can make anything with fashion work.
As long as you are confident with your outfit you are going to make a statement.
It was so fun & would love to participate in The Messy Project again!

I think I did pretty good! What do you think?
Be sure to check out the other beautiful ladies that participated in this fun project!

NC Blogger Buzz

Friday night, I met up with some amazing bloggers at Clothes Hound in Raleigh.
Ashley from Dancing with Ashley & Angela from Head to Toe Chic
has put together a quarterly blog event/conference
complete with fun, food & blogging tips.

I had such a good time meeting other bloggers, learning from their mistakes &
finding out about the ins/outs of social media.

There was such a good turn out & I cannot wait for the next event.
If any North Carolina bloggers are interested in the next event,
let me know & I will pass along the details for attending.

Memphis Fun

Hi dolls!
Hope y'all had a good first day of the work week!

As you know we went to back home to Memphis not only to see my sweet great-grandmother but to announce to our family that we were expecting.. {but that's a post for another day!}

While at home I:

Went & got pedis with all the Chrestman girls!

Went to the Memphis Zoo!

Had a yummy dinner at my Papaw's & picked veggies from his garden..

Had some delicious desserts at La Baguette!

And enjoyed every precious second with my amazing family! Because I've recently learned you never really know how much time your going to have with them! Make sure you embrace everything with open arms! Xo

Heaven's Sweetest Angel

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that a few weeks ago
I went back home to see my great-grandmother that had recently been put in ICU.
Just a day before I made it back home she asked to be taken back to the nursing home she lived at.
I made it in on Saturday and just two short days later,
she went to be with Jesus and her sweet husband in heaven.

Everyday gets a little easier knowing she's no longer suffering.
I am just so amazed by her beautiful, courageous spirit that will love on with me everyday.
I am also so blessed to have gotten to tell her goodbye and even tell her that we were expecting. She hadn't talked in days & when I told her she was so proud and excited.

She wasn't just my great-grandmother but my role model, best friend, & secret keeper.
She taught me how to apply my "face", act like a lady and gave me my first diamond.
Not a day will go by that I won't treasure our sweet time together
and remember all the ways she has influenced my life.
I hope to make her so proud and can't wait to see her again in heaven.
I know right now she is smiling down on me
and dancing the night away with her husband and my Papa.

Summer Neutrals + Long Trains

Hi ladies!

Long time, no post..
But seriously life has been like a train ride long & bumpy!

Dress: Old {Similar Here} || Shoes: Shoe Dazzle ||
Purse: Kate Spade

But anyway enough of that...
I have literally had this dress for about four years.
I can't get enough of it in the summer months.
It was perfect for our anniversary a couple of weeks ago especially
with it being an off white color and all.

On top of that when I saw these fab shoes on Gal Meets Glam
I knew they had to be mine.
Most of the time I don't even bother checking to see where her stuff is from
because lets face it.. I can't afford it.

But when I found out they were from Shoe Dazzle
and I had enough credits to purchase them plus get a discount I was SOLD!
Run don't walk & get them now!

Hope y'all enjoy & have a great week!

Healing America

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a courageous man who was diagnosed with mercury toxicity.
After battling his own "war" he has created a deeply inspirational DVD for recovering war veterans going through their own healing process.

In this video he displays gorgeous scenery from our "Land of the Free"
along with an acoustic soundtrack.

This man's name is Jeffrey Gilliam.
Now that he is officially mercury free, we would love it if you gave him
& our veterans some much needed love & support.

House to Home

Two years ago today we officially became home owners!

Moving in I had no idea that our homes physical appearance would change so much.
Since we've moved in, we had a tree fall on our house.
{Read about that here.}
& that led us to get a metal roof & re-paint our shutters & door.
Also last year, I landscaped our yard while the hubs was deployed.

I think what I love most about our house is that is is ours.
We can paint our walls, tear them down, or pretty much do whatever we please.
We have done so much to make it "ours" & I can't wait to hopefully raise a family here.

It is so rewarding & I love coming home to a little place of my own.
I plan on doing a home tour. Let me know if y'all would be interested in that.
Hope y'all are having a great week & enjoy!
