Ohhh what a night!

Of course when you have everything all planned out something always seems to go awry... This was the story of my life all day yesterday. I had a game plan all laid out, what I was going to wear to meet my hubby in, what we were going to do, eat, etc.

Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING went according to plan. On the plus side Mr. Army Man did buy me some beautiful yellow mums & some gorgeous fresh basil I can grow in the kitchen.

So... Back to my story.. I went and picked him up yesterday afternoon about 3:30 and I was in a foul mood.. He didn't give me proper directions. (Idk why I ask him anyway, he doesn't know how to get around post either.) And I was really fidgety. I had taken a caffeine headache pill.. LOL! Early that day I had found some baby snakes in our gutters so we had to stop buy Lowe's not in my game plan but I got something out of it anyway.. So it was worth while.. We had about ten more stops on the list and I was just ready to get home. I was starrrrrrving! As soon as we got all of our errands ran. We went home. I thought we were going to go in and immediately eat as dinner was beef strogonoff in the crock pot but he had to kill the snakes.. That were no longer there... Ugh! And see his precious dogs. Which have been complete and utter demons while he has been away. He blames it on them being puppies. I think its time to grow up & face the facts. They are baby face assassins!!!

Finally..Dinner! After dinner we watch a little TV.. Sports, Grey's Anatomy, & Private Practice (which was really good for the season premiere.) Showers, then bed. It was an eventful day, even though nothing went according to plan, ohhhh & my new furniture came in. It looks amazing.. I will definitely blog about it later. When I finish decorating around it! I'm almost finished with one whole room besides bathrooms! LOL!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Coming home!

Mr. Army Man is coming home tonight from a long "business trip." I cannot wait! I have homemade beef strogonoff in the crock pot and just made some jack-o-lantern sugar cookies. (I decorated for Halloween on September 15.) I plan on eating dinner together and relaxing on our new couches. They should be arriving any minute!

Beef strogonoff:

You'll need:
1 pound Beef chuck roast
1 can of cream of mushroom soup (low sodium/red. fat)
3 Tbsp. Worsteshire sauce
1 pkg. of McCormick beef strogonoff seasoning
8 oz. reduced fat sour cream
1 pkg. egg noodles
Salt, pepper, garlic powder- to taste

In crock pot combine all ingredients except sour cream and noodles. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Thirty minutes before serving add the sour cream, stir. Serve over top of the boiled egg noodles.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Mac & Cheese Sauce

The other day I made a homemade cheese sauce for mac & cheese.

I didn't measure anything so just add until it tastes good.

Make a roux. Add milk and a brick of cream cheese. Stir continuously with a whisk. Add salt and pepper to taste. Then add in a package of shredded cheddar cheese. I used bow tie noodles and combined them with the sauce. I added more shredded cheese to the top and roasted vegetable ritz crackers and french's fried onion rings mixed together, crumbled and combined with melted butter for the crunchy topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until top cheese is melted and everything is bubbly! Delicious!

Manic Monday

Today.. Has been utterly crazy. I went and bought the rest of our furniture for our living room and found these cute crosses for my cross wall. Orginally $10 at the funiture store on sale for $1.30 a piece. Yay! So. I bought them all for gifts for other friends I know who have cross walls as well.

I can't wait get my funiture in on Thursday. Then my living room will be complete! I'll be sure to post pictures, but this is what I ordered.

I had an amazing workout today.. I did twenty minutes on the elliptical. More than I normally do. And sixty five minutes on the bike. Exausted. I love my gym, they have everything.. Swimming pool, racket ball courts, saunas, tanning, and everything normal gyms have. LOVE!

I got home and had seven care packages from my mom. She is the best! Took my dogs out and they ran off.. So after my workout I ran a mile down the street to get them. Ugh. And the crazy neighbor once again told me to keep my dogs up or she was going to call the pound. Not once has she welcomed me to our new neighborhood.

Okay, Okay... I'm done venting.. It has been a crazy day and I can't wait until Friday gets here!

My Best Friend's Wedding/OOTN

Last night I attended my best friend's wedding. It was gorgeous. Here colors were red, black, and white. She got married on Fort Bragg at the Main Post Chapel. She wore a Vera Wang gown and looked absolutely stunning. I'm so happy for them both and wish them many, many years of happiness.

Accomplishment

Every night when I climb into bed, I write a to-do list for the following day. Today my list was quite long and although I haven't made it to everything on the list I feel some sort of accomplishment. My house is spotless (that wasn't on the list..) I've done all my school work, until tomorrow, and I've hung up curtains in my office and pictures in the living room and kitchen that have been sitting in the floor for weeks.

I still have yet to workout but that's defiantly going to happen today. I forgot to go by the cleaners.. But there is always tomorrow..

ABC Family

Two new shows have recently come out (one not so recent, actually) on ABC Family, one called The Lying Game and the other Pretty Little Liars. I know both are a little high school. But I actually read both books entire series.. I really dislike how they have changed almost the entire story line except from the characters names. Ridiculous. I really love ABC Family. But please follow story lines they are so much better than some of the things you are showing now-a-days... Aren't you upset when you see a show/movie you really want to watch and it's such a disappointment from the actual book??
